The Tri-Valley Life Sciences Summit Returns to Veeva Systems in Pleasanton To Celebrate and Fuel Entrepreneur-Driven Economic Growth
Tri-Valley’s Preeminent Life Sciences Start-Up Event Showcases Region’s VC Growth
PLEASANTON, CA – September 15, 2022 – Since the last Tri-Valley Life Sciences Summit in 2019 attracted over 250 attendees, it was a no-brainer to return for 2022. Despite the pandemic, the Tri-Valley area saw $1.62B in capital raised from 2020 to 2022. Tri-Valley life sciences companies displayed not only resilience, but growth, in the face of many challenges, with capital raised in the life sciences sector reflecting an >30% increase in 2021 over 2020.
To recognize and propel this progress, the Tri-Valley Life Sciences Summit 2022 will kick off again on October 13, showcasing some of the Tri-Valley’s most promising life sciences companies and start-ups — as well as offer advice on how the founders and vendors from the wider Bay Area can join in on the Tri-Valley’s success.
The summit will present an unparalleled inside look at the Tri-Valley’s burgeoning life sciences industry — an economic analysis from Mirador Capital Partners showed that last year alone, there was $770M in capital provided to the area’s life sciences companies. This upcoming summit offers a glimpse at potential venture capital investments and career moves for Tri-Valley residents and Bay Area residents at large for 2022 and beyond.

The Tri-Valley Life Sciences Summit will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Veeva Systems, 4280 Hacienda Drive in Pleasanton, California. Tickets are free, but registration is required. Hosted by Veeva Systems and sponsored by Tri-Valley Ventures and Mirador Capital Partners, the summit will open with an analysis of the life sciences in the Tri-Valley investment landscape, The keynote event is a fireside chat with Ben Hindson, CSO, co-founder, and president of 10X Genomics, discussing the various personal and company transitions going from 10X Genomics’ foundation to its current state as a publicly-traded company.
This will be followed by a panel discussion sponsored by Engine Room and moderated by Engine Room co-founder Carole-Lynn Glass examining how Tri-Valley life sciences entrepreneurs and ecosystem leaders overcame obstacles or corrected course while building their companies.
The region has seen continued growth in the life sciences field since 2019, including $1.92B raised in late stage capital and $370M in the earlier stages. These figures include a number of exciting transitions for local life sciences startups including Movano’s IPO, Raydiant Oximetry and Iris Vision’s Series A raises, and the acquisition of Unchained Labs.
